Over the last ten years of my writing career, I've fallen into traps of changing my writing style to fit the advice of other writers, worrying more about what readers will like than the stories I want to tell, and comparing where I am on my journey to where other authors are. 

 

Writing is a craft where it's easy to compare your success to the success of others, but what works for someone else, might not work for you—and that's okay! This journey is different for everyone, and the most important part is finding and developing plans unique to our own paths.
